Brody & Family

So you guessed it. Another newborn shoot!  It's pouring newborns!  Doesn't this blog just make you want to go out and make/have one ;)  OK, I'll behave, my hubby would give me a look for that one.  Back to the sitting. The baby pictured in this photo shoot just happens to be my baby's best friend (or is that my best friends baby, I can't ever keep it straight).  Brody is a doll and a part of a really cute family. So I've included a few shots of his family that I took along with his newborn sitting. This sitting was full of fun and trauma. The fun was the baby and his toddler brothers who couldn't but help get in the pictures.  The trauma was afterwards when their mom found a paint bucket, which was bumped by one of the kids, overturned on the kitchen floor.  Mom had been repainting before I stopped in for the sitting. After we barricaded the toddlers from the puddle of paint, and cleaned up we crashed in her family room and decided - this mommy work is tough…  But well worth it as you can see from the pictures of these adorable boys & girl.

Benjamin David

So hands down this is the best family I have ever shot in my entire life. Ok so you've guessed it I took family pictures of my family ;) I'll run through the dynamics of the situation. Mom (me) saw that her child (Benjamin) was content and wide awake right after his morning bath.  I told dad (Will) to get up to our makeshift studio right away with the baby-- don't even bother dressing him. In the studio I noticed a draft. I brought up the heater to blow on Ben while we did the shoot. This worked out great because his eyes were always pointed in the direction of the heater (which also happened to be the same direction of the camera). Next I'll answer the all to obvious question-- "how did you (Summer) get in the photo?" I called in for reinforcements. Once I set up the camera my mother just pushed the button while I ran back and forth deciding what to do next. Mission Accomplished.  I imagine if you follow this blog long enough you will watch Ben age. So keep your eye out for him :)

Ella

Newborns!  I guess they are my thing right now.  They are soo fun to shoot! Ella is about two weeks old in these pictures. She held out till the very end of this sitting to open her cute little eyes. In fact we had declared the sitting over when those two little baby blues decided to grace us with their presence.  Ella is just beautiful and so is her mother who made it into part of the shoot. I sure had fun being with these guys--- even little brother who refused to be in the shoot but made lots of noise in the background. Great Family!

Spencer & Family

This little guy was about a week and a half old when sitting time came around for him. He did marvelous. He was awake the entire time, let me say that one more time - the ENTIRE time- practically unheard of in newborn world. We had fun. I admit to a little bias on this sitting- for I am a couple weeks away from having a new baby boy myself, and it was fun to see how little my newborn may be :) In fact my little one is causing a back ache right now so I better finish with this post by saying Babies Rule!

Isaac

I was commissioned last minute by Isaac to shoot headshots so he could have something to turn into the movie he is trying out for.  Anytime I told him not to smile he struggled. This guy is a smiler and his smile looks great on him so we went with it. Isaac we wish you luck in your pursuits! You're definitely headed for greatness!

Girls, Girls, Girls

I have to say Taylor, Katie, and Tiana were sooooooo (extra o's for the extra meaning) fun to shoot. Not only are they gorgeous but they are pleasant and very fun to be around, which made for a great shoot! We headed downtown Ogden to find one of my favorite locations, but call it 8 months pregnant - but I couldn't remember the street/spot that I have done several other sittings. We improvised and found these great shots near and at the train station in Ogden.

Abby

New York, New York.  My sister-in-law was headed for the big apple but needed head shots to impress. I sped over to her house and took the below photographs.  You're beautiful Abby!

Sam & Chelseanne

These two are finally tying the knot (even if he is leaving her for the summer for an intership in Washington DC. Love knows no bounds right :) I saw this location in a few pictures and thought I would track it down. It's in the middle of Salt Lake City and if you blink you might miss it. Lucky for us-- we found it! If I had two letters to describe this couple it would be "GQ." They were great models. Every pose came so naturally to them. Kiddies-- I'll shoot your pictures anytime!

ps I can call em kiddies cause when I met Chelsea, 10 years ago, she was just a kid ;)

The Clarkes

So you've probably already guessed from the last name that this is my family. This particular brother has not had his family pictures taken since their third (of five) was a baby. So I knew this was my chance, perhaps the only one I would get for another five years. We set up the sitting in Farmington at the court house so we could take advantage of the columns there. We parked nearby so that every time one of the individuals was not needed they could run back to the warm car and "de-red" their noses. These guys were great! The kids were very well behaved, they must get that from their aunt. The newest was nothing but perfect-- she just stared and stared at me and my camera. In this family is also the nephew I think looks like Calvin (on Calvin and Hobbs) his hair is always sticking up and he quite frequently looks as if he is just about to cause a little mischief. Jacob, the two year-old, needed to be held by his mother through his individual shoot so we had to "lean" her out of the picture-- I think he turned out great. Katilyn and Mathew are teenagers in training I loved shooting them! As for the parents, all I can say is what good looking people! I am so glad to be the sister/aunt to such a wonderful family. Thanks for the fun in the freeze Clarkes!!!
